City of Prosser wins $162,000!

The City of Prosser has been awarded $162,708 to develop a Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces plan (PROS).

Historically, due to its small size and limited resources, Prosser has relied on a single data collection method for updating its PROS plan: a simple virtual survey posted on the city's website. However, this method is not robust enough to fully explore Presser's diverse recreation needs, nor does it enable city leaders to identify and eliminate access barriers for underserved populations.

To solve this problem, Prosser will create a new, long-range PROS plan using multiple data collection methods to ensure optimum public input. This strategy, in turn, will help the city increase equitable and inclusive recreation access for all of Presser's residents.

This plan will allow the city to collaborate with the community and integrate DEIA best practices into its park policies and development plans.

Many thanks to Washington-RCO and the Washington State Legislature for funding this important project! You can read more about the project here.
